Senior Vehicle Sales Consultant /Team Leader

Hawkes Bay Kia (The Car Company) is looking for an experienced and motivated Senior Vehicle Sales Consultant/Team Leader to join our soon to be opened branch in Napier

We are looking for an experienced individual, who is driven and wants to move into the next stage of their career and assume team leadership responsibilities at the new location, on top of the core responsibility of meeting their sales targets. The position reports to and assists the Sales Manager & Dealer Principal and offers a fantastic opportunity to gain experience understanding and assisting in the leadership of a branch.

Key responsibilities

  • Keep yourself updated on product changes and new products in the market, be able to sell and present it in a way that identifies value and appeals vehicles to potential and existing customers in the company's territory.
  • Liaise with Sales Manager & Dealer Principal to determine trade-in values, ensure that you adhere to the dealerships credit policies, procedures, and business relations
  • Follow a structured selling procedure to achieve monthly targets which entail gaining contacts, regular presentations, and maintaining trust and understanding of the customer.
  • Liaise with other vehicle sales department staff to determine trade-in values and any appraisal adjustments, ensure that you adhere to the dealership's credit policies, procedures, and business relations.
  • Ensure all administration requirements for vehicle sales are carried out in an efficient and accurate manner, following the structured selling procedure.
  • Use and maintain company systems such as Autoplay and Magix for prospecting and management of customer engagement.
  • Ensure the maintenance schedule and warranty information is thoroughly reviewed prior to delivery. Keep your customer up to date and informed of anything relevant and all service saving opportunities.
  • Become involved with any problem or complaint your customer has during ownership and aid them in resolving the issue.
  • Follow up with a quality contact call a week or so after delivery to establish customer care, review the operation of vehicles, and feedback from the customers.

The successful candidate will possess/be:

  • Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills, with the ability to get along well with others.
  • A strong team player, ideally with some experience in leading or managing/building a team.
  • Good computer skills, and experience using a CRM system to enhance sales.
  • An understanding and appreciation of marketing, advertising and promotional strategies within a business.
  • Strong prioritising and time management skills and be highly organised.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good knowledge of the Consumer Guarantees Act, Motor Vehicle Sales Act, Fair Trading Act, and the Privacy Act.
  • A current driver's licence, relevant to the class of vehicles being sold.
